About the Author

I am Michinori Maruta, a member of the IARF Japan Chapter and Rissho Kosei-kai, a lay Buddhist movement in Japan. I am now retired from the headquarters of Rissho Kosei-kai after serving as the minister of RKK of Pacifica, CA, USA, and RKK Hakodate, Japan. My main activity is to hold Buddhist teaching sessions in Zoom and post various articles on the Buddha Dharma through SNS.I hope to contribute to bridging Theravada Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism as I believe that Shakyamuni Buddha preached only the Dharma, the truth. Also, I am delighted to be part of the Free Religion Institute, which I am convinced possesses great potential for human liberation and freedom.
