The January 2024 issue (No. 34) of the Monthly Letter published by the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF). It features New Year greetings and outlines the chapter's plans to keep readers updated on activities, regional member exchanges, youth group initiatives, cooperation with overseas chapters, and international contributions.

The December 2023 issue of the Japan Chapter Monthly Letter, featuring a reflection on the architecture of Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines in Japan, focusing on the concept of 'solemnity' and the traditional use of prayer beads (数珠) across different sects.

The November 2023 issue (No. 32) of the Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue introduces the role of 'Miko' (shrine maidens) in Shinto shrines across Japan, detailing their historical background, traditional attire (white kosode and scarlet hakama), and their sacred role as a bridge between humans and the Kami.

The October 2023 issue (No. 31) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter reports on the bell-ringing ceremonies and prayers offered by members across various districts in Japan in observance of the International Day of Peace on September 21. It highlights visits to family temples, shrines, and peace facilities, as well as a donation of foreign coins for the replica casting of the UN Peace Bell.

The September 2023 issue (No. 30) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue reports on the bell-ringing ceremonies and prayers for world peace conducted on International Peace Day. It highlights the cooperation of various family temples and acquaintance temples across multiple districts in Japan, including Renshoji Temple (Hiratsuka City), Tokurinji Temple (Nagoya City), Kogetsuin Temple (Toyota City), Shohoji Temple (Gujo City), Sensoji Temple (Tokyo), Kenponji Temple (Sapporo City), Myokouji Temple (Sapporo City), Bukkoji Temple (Hakodate City), and the Kamaishi Reconstruction Bell (Iwate Prefecture).

This issue of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter introduces Shichifukujin, the Seven Deities of Good Fortune. It explores their multicultural origins, including Hindu deities from India (Benzaiten, Bishamonten, and Daikokuten), Chinese Taoist deities (Fukurokuju, Jurōjin, and Hotei), and the sole Japanese deity, Ebisu-sama. The letter notes Ebisu-sama's background as a child with a disability who was loved for his big smile and ultimately became the deity of safe navigation and fishery.

The July 2023 monthly newsletter of the IARF Japan Chapter (No. 28). This issue features a report on the delegation's 2018 visit to the UUA All Souls Church, highlighting the exchange of paintings and art supplies between the children of Hiroshima and the church in 1947. It also details the history of Hiroshima's 'Peace Bell,' from its first ringing at the 1st Hiroshima Peace Festival in 1947 through its various generations of bells up to the present day.

Monthly Letter of the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF), Issue No. 27, June 2023.

This issue features a profile of the famous poet and teacher Kenji Miyazawa (1896–1933) and the popular cartoonist Takashi Yanase (1919–2013), exploring their shared love for humanity, nature, and the universe. It includes a reproduction of Yanase's pen drawing depicting a galactic railroad over starry skies and rice paddies, inspired by Miyazawa's work.

The March 2023 issue (No. 24) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue features a report on the chapter's "postal card collection drive" (unused postal cards and stamps) active over the past 4 years for international humanitarian aid.

With the help of the Youth Group of Rissho Kosei-kai Bangladesh Dharma Center, donations of school supplies, snack packs, and food items were delivered to six facilities (including orphanages) in Bangladesh. In October 2022, 11 youth group members from the Japan Chapter visited Bangladesh to directly hand over the items to children in two orphanages.

The January 2023 issue (No. 22) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter. It provides updates on the activities of the IARF Japan Chapter, member exchanges in each district, youth group activities, exchanges with overseas chapters, and international contribution efforts.

The December 2022 issue (No. 21) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter. It features a bilingual reflection on space travel, the awe experienced by Apollo astronauts viewing the "blue Earth" from space, and how individuals can encounter spiritual truths and realize the mystery of "greater life" on their own life journeys, contributing to world peace as global citizens.

The October 2022 monthly letter (No. 19) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter. This issue features a bilingual (Japanese and English) article about the "Peace Bell" (sister bell) located in the Expo'70 Commemorative Park in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture. It details the history of the bell, originally donated to the United Nations Headquarters by Chiyoji Nakagawa in 1954, and the annual bell-ringing ceremonies held to mark the International Day of Peace.

The August 2022 monthly letter of the IARF Japan Chapter. It features a reflection by Rev. Norio Sakai, President of the IARF Japan Chapter, on his walks along Tokyo's Shakujii River. He shares observations of local nature, including a brief encounter with a cicada that brought reflections on life, aging, illness, and death (the principle of birth, old age, sickness, and death), alongside a message on finding peace and coexisting with COVID-19.

This issue of the Japan Chapter Monthly Letter (July 2022, No. 16) reports on the "Grassroots Summit" held in Sapporo and Shiraoi, Hokkaido in September 2017. More than 70 members gathered to study the lifestyle and culture of the Ainu people and the faith culture of the native people of Hawaii. It explores their shared worldview that the divine resides in everything in the world, linking it to the Buddhist "Spirit of One Vehicle." The letter also notes continuous efforts to understand Ainu culture, including inviting Ms. Kimiko Naraki of the Karahuto Ainu Association to various exchange events, and outlines plans to trace the footsteps of Takeshiro Matsuura, who named Hokkaido 150 years ago.

The June 2022 issue (No. 15) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue reports on the Japan-Thailand Interfaith Youth Exchange Program held in March 2018 in collaboration with the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies at Mahidol University (Thailand). It highlights the participation of 15 students from each country and a presentation by Rev. Sakai, President of the Japan Chapter, who shared a tapestry of the "Seven Deities of Good Fortune and Treasure Ship" to illustrate the deep roots of interreligious dialogue and cooperation in Japanese tradition.

The Monthly Letter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter, Issue No. 14, May 2022. This issue reports on the Japan Chapter's visit to the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP) International Office following the 35th IARF World Congress in July 2018. It also announces the upcoming 'IARF Overseas Chapters Exchange Meeting' (The First Asia) on May 31, 2022.

The April 2022 issue (No. 13) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue outlines the Japan Chapter's proposal and implementation of "bilateral exchanges" with overseas chapters since 2010 and 2014, including their participation in the 35th IARF World Congress in Washington, D.C. in 2018. It also shares plans for an online "IARF Overseas Chapter Exchange Meeting" scheduled for late May or early June 2022 following the postponement of the World Congress due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The March 2022 issue (No. 12) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter highlights the activities of the youth group, focusing on the 'Asian Interfaith Youth Exchange Program' conducted since 2015. It features reports and photos from exchanges with youth from India, Korea, Thailand, Mongolia, and Bangladesh, covering Shinto, Buddhist, Christian, and Islamic interfaith activities. It also features Edo-period sword fittings (Kozuka) depicting the Seven Deities of Good Fortune as symbols of religious harmony.

The 11th issue of the Monthly Letter published by the IARF Japan Chapter in February 2022. This issue shares updates from various overseas chapters (including India, USA, Philippines, UK, Middle East, Netherlands, and Pakistan) and highlights grassroots exchanges with individuals of various faiths during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The January 2022 issue (No. 10) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter, featuring New Year greetings, updates on the activities of the Japan Chapter, regional member exchanges, youth group updates, and international contributions.

IARF日本チャプターの月報第8号（2021年11月）。2021年9月17日にニューヨーク国連本部で挙行された「国際平和デー」の鐘打式に参列した、国連平和の鐘を守る会代表・髙瀨聖子氏の帰朝報告を掲載しています。また、酒井委員長による平和の鐘に込められた「不戦」の精神についての寄稿も収録。

IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter, No. 8 (November 2021). Features a delegation report by Seiko Takase, representative of the Association for the Preservation of the UN Peace Bell, who attended the International Day of Peace bell-ringing ceremony at the UN Headquarters in New York on September 17, 2021.

The August 2021 issue (No. 5) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter features reports from the 3rd SDGs Seminar held on July 17, 2021. It includes a community practice report titled "My practice and experience in SDGs," highlighting a neighborhood initiative in Yokosuka City that created the "Sukasuka Ondo" song and dance to prevent littering, as well as waste sorting promotion efforts.

The July 2021 issue of the Japan Chapter Monthly Letter focuses on global plastic environmental pollution, its increase during the COVID-19 pandemic, and actions to counter it. It features an announcement and program details for the Third SDGs Seminar, titled “Let us learn from each other! A report on my SDGs practice” ~Global Plastic Environmental Pollution and Countermeasures~, led by Dr. Tadao Saito (Professor Emeritus, Tohoku University). The issue also includes guidelines from the IARF International Religious Network for member groups and families on reducing plastic waste.

The June 2021 issue (No. 3) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter.

This issue highlights the 2nd SDGs Seminar held online on May 29, 2021, titled "SDGs from the Perspective of Plastics: Global Plastic Environmental Pollution and Countermeasures". The seminar featured Dr. Tadao Saito, Professor Emeritus of Tohoku University, as the main lecturer, drawing over 300 participants to discuss the global impact of plastic pollution and practical daily actions to reduce plastic waste.

The monthly letter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter, Issue No. 2 (May 2021).

This issue features a report on the Bangladesh-Japan Youth Exchange Meeting held online on April 2, 2021. Organized by the IARF Japan Chapter Youth Group as part of the "Asian Interfaith Youth Exchange Program," the event gathered 160 participants to discuss history, culture, education, and martial arts, alongside a donation of 300,000 yen to elementary schools in Bangladesh.

The inaugural issue (April 2021) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter.

This issue features the Bangladesh-Japan Youth Exchange hosted by the IARF Japan Chapter Youth Group, an online intercultural dialogue held on April 2, 2021. The program facilitated mutual understanding and discussion on education, food culture, ethnic composition, daily life, social systems, and peace between young people from Bangladesh and Japan.

This issue of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter opens with a cover essay on auspicious Japanese sword ornaments decorated with motifs of basho (Japanese banana plant) and mino-kame (a mythical long-lived turtle), and the Buddhist parable of "the one-eyed turtle encountering a floating log." The main pages report fellowship and exchange gatherings with IARF members from Europe and the United States in Tokyo, Hiroshima, and the Chubu District, including visits to Rissho Kosei-kai's Great Sacred Hall, Tsubaki Grand Shrine, and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. It also features an excerpt from the IARF International Website on sacred land and religious freedom in Hawai‘i, along with seasonal photo essays on Japanese summer scenery, koinobori for Children’s Day, and views around Izumo and Lake Shinji.

The monthly newsletter of the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF), Issue No. 62, May 2026. This issue explores the history of the Samurai class, their spiritual foundations in Shinto, Buddhism, and Christianity (Kirishitan daimyo), and the modern traditions of Tango no Sekku (Boys' Festival).

The April 2026 issue (No. 61) of the Monthly Letter published by the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF). This issue features a reflection on the Somei-Yoshino cherry blossom, its history since the late Edo and Meiji eras, and its significance in Japan.

The March 2026 issue (No. 60) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter.

This issue features an article on the legend of Yamata no Orochi (the Eight-Forked Serpent) and Susanoo (Susanoo-no-Mikoto) from Japanese mythology. It highlights the story of Susanoo defeating the giant serpent to rescue Kushinadahime, and explores historical interpretations of the myth, such as a metaphor for flood control and the taming of a wild river to protect fertile agricultural lands.

The December 2025 issue (No. 57) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter.

This issue features an article explaining the cultural and spiritual significance of the large brass or copper bells (suzu at Shinto shrines, waniguchi at Buddhist temples) and the hemp ropes (suzu-no-o) used by worshippers in Japan.

The November 2025 issue (No. 56) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter. This issue features an article on Taiheiji Temple in Uwajima, the family temple of Chiyoji Nakagawa, who created the 'Bell for the Absolute Peace of the World' in 1950 and later dedicated the 'Peace Bell' to the United Nations Headquarters in 1954.

The October 2025 issue (No. 55) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter features a discussion on Shinto shrines in Japan, focusing on the symbolism of the torii (gateway) as a boundary separating the sacred and secular realms. It also touches upon the historical reverence of Shinto among samurai, historical sword fittings engraved with Shinto symbols, and features the Warei Shrine in Uwajima.

The August 2025 issue (No. 53) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter features a bilingual (Japanese and English) introduction to Miho no Matsubara in Shizuoka Prefecture, focusing on the ancient "Hagoromo Legend" and the 15th-century Noh play "Hagoromo".

The July 2025 issue of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter features an introduction to Fudo Myoo (Acalanatha), a prominent deity in Japanese Buddhism, particularly in Esoteric Buddhism (Mikkyo). Revered affectionately as "O-Fudo-san," his Sanskrit name translates to "Immovable Protector." The issue explains his iconic stern appearance and symbolic attributes: the sankoken (three-pronged sword) in his right hand to cut through evil and desires, and the kensaku (salvation rope) in his left hand to bind negative forces and guide people. It outlines his historical introduction to Japan by the monk Kukai (Kobo Daishi) in the Heian period, his widespread veneration by the samurai and commoners in the Edo period, and his continuing modern significance as a symbol of resilience and protection against natural disasters.

The June 2025 issue (No. 51) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter introduces Manpuku-ji Temple on Mt. Todo in Ono Town, Fukushima Prefecture. It features the "Showa Rakan" stone statues, which depict the lives of modern individuals, including the unique "Rakan 689" group named after the creators of the famous song "Ue o Muite Aruko" (Sukiyaki).

The May 2025 issue (No. 50) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter features the Ushiku Daibutsu (Ushiku Amida Daibutsu) in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Standing 120 meters tall, it was certified in 1995 as the tallest bronze Buddha statue in the world. The newsletter describes the history, features, and gardens of the statue, as well as its appointment as an "Ushiku Goodwill Ambassador" in 2024. It also contrasts this giant representation of Amitabha Buddha with miniature carvings from the Edo period.

The April 2025 monthly newsletter (Issue No. 49) of the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF). This issue features an article on the history and cultural significance of cherry blossoms (sakura) in Japan, exploring their etymological origins, spiritual connection to ancient "Rice Field Deities," and their historic role in international goodwill, such as the 1912 gift of cherry trees to Washington, D.C. as a symbol of Japan-U.S. friendship.

The March 2025 issue (No. 48) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter. This issue features an article on the "Kamakura Daibutsu" (Great Buddha of Kamakura) at Kōtoku-in Temple in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It discusses the history of the bronze Amitabha Tathagata statue, its cultural significance, its appearances on Meiji-era postcards, and a late Edo-period depiction on sword fittings.

The February 2025 issue (No. 47) of the IARF Japan Chapter's Monthly Letter, featuring a discussion on Nehan-e (Commemoration of Shakyamuni Buddha Entering Nirvana), Buddha's teachings of "自灯明・法灯明" (Be a light unto yourselves, making the Dharma your light), and late-Edo period artistic representations of the Buddha's ascetic practices.

The November 2024 issue (No. 44) of the Monthly Letter published by the Japan Chapter of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF).

This issue features the "Peace Bell" (a sister bell) located in the Expo'70 Commemorative Park in Suita City, Osaka, near the "Tower of the Sun" monument by Taro Okamoto. It provides the history of the bell, which was cast as a stand-in for the original Peace Bell donated to the United Nations Headquarters by Chiyoji Nakagawa in 1954. It also highlights the annual bell-ringing ceremony held in commemoration of the International Day of Peace.

The October 2024 issue (No. 43) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter features a cover story on the "Shaheed Minar" monument in Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park, Tokyo. Donated by Bangladesh in July 2005, the monument symbolizes the cultural exchange between Toshima Ward and Bangladesh and honors those who risked their lives to protect the Bengali language. The issue also highlights a miniature of this monument presented during an exchange between the IARF Japan Chapter youth group and the Bangladesh Dharma Center Youth Group in October 2022.

The September 2024 issue (No. 42) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue features an article on Jizo-san (Jizo Bodhisattva), exploring its significance in Japanese folk religion and Buddhism as a compassionate protector of children, travelers, and those in distress.

The August 2024 issue (No. 41) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter.

This issue commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 25th IARF World Congress, the first ever held in Asia, which took place in Tokyo from July 23 to August 10, 1984, under the theme "Religious Path to Peace: Eastern Initiative and Western Response." It highlights the historical venues, including Rissho Kosei-kai's Great Sacred Hall, Fumon Hall, and Horin-kaku Guest Hall, and the enduring legacy of the statue of Kannon Bodhisattva in the Fumon Area.

The July 2024 issue (No. 40) of the IARF Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue reflects on how ancient Japanese people viewed natural disasters as the work of deities (such as the thunder and wind gods) and kept them in awe. It contrasts this with modern scientific capability, noting that even with advanced technology, humanity cannot prevent such disasters, and suggests viewing them as opportunities for individual spiritual growth.

The June 2024 issue (No. 39) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter. This issue features the "Tomoiki Tree" (Tree of Symbiosis) at Omiya Hachimangu Shrine in Suginami-ward, Tokyo, symbolizing coexistence and inter-religious collaboration. It also reports on a formal visit and exchange meeting on May 16, 2023, involving Associate Professor Kunihiko Terasawa and students from Wartburg College (USA) alongside the IARF Japan Chapter youth group.

The monthly letter of the IARF Japan Chapter for May 2024 (No. 38). This issue features a bilingual (Japanese and English) introduction to Asakusa, one of Tokyo's most famous tourist destinations, highlighting its history, old shopping streets, Senso-ji Temple, and the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate).

The April 2024 issue (No. 37) of the International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF) Japan Chapter Monthly Letter features a reflection on the beauty of cherry blossoms (sakura) and a call to listen to nature and adopt environmentally friendly living attitudes in the face of climate change.
