The Contemporary Evolution of Religious Thought in England, America and India
Count Goblet d’Alviella’s comparative account of contemporary religious thought in England, the United States, and India, translated by J. Moden and published in 1885.
The American chapters discuss Unitarianism, Emerson and Parker, Free Religion, ethical religion, and evolution. Other chapters examine English religious change and the Brahmo Somaj and related developments in India. It offers a nineteenth-century comparative interpretation of movements represented elsewhere in this collection.
