EME Study Tours
Study tours are one of the ways EME turns regional connection into direct encounter: visiting religious communities, learning in place, sharing worship and conversation, and spending sustained time with one another.
Some tours are connected with EME conferences; others are stand-alone IARF journeys. The interactive tour records below are maintained in the IARF Community Tours app.
IARF Japan Study Tour 2026
6–20 May 2026 · Japan
A two-week journey of sustained encounter with IARF’s Japanese friends and partners, moving through Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka, Koyasan and Narita and combining worship, study, dialogue, cultural memory and friendship.
2025 EME Conference Pre-Tour
9–11 September 2025 · Germany
The pre-conference journey around Frankfurt, Offenbach and neighbouring communities introduced participants to Free Religious history and contemporary communities, as well as Jewish, Huguenot and wider religious and civic heritage.
EME Interfaith Study Tour Poland 2017
A study tour through Poland’s interfaith landscape, including Jewish history in Tykocin, the Tatar Muslim communities of Kruszyniany and Bohoniki, Orthodox Christian traditions around Supraśl and Zaścianki, and modern Jewish life in Warsaw.
Why do two tours require a login? The Poland 2017 and Japan 2026 records contain participant stories and media. For now they remain available to logged-in IARF Network users rather than being made public retrospectively. The 2025 pre-tour is a public tour record.
